Earth
Old Earth, lost before the first novel and found again in the Magellanic Cloud.
Earth, called Old Earth in the Hyperion Cantos, is the lost homeworld of humanity. The poet Martin Silenus was born there to a rich aristocratic family before a black hole destroyed it, and the Ousters had fled the Hegemony's growing influence even earlier.
Lore & Background
In Hyperion, Brawne Lamia and Johnny are forcibly farcast to a planet that seems a perfect replica of Old Earth, and in The Fall of Hyperion Severn and Leigh Hunt arrive on such a world on the way to Rome. In Endymion, Aenea shares that Earth was moved by an unknown power. Her group reaches Old Earth, now in the Magellanic Cloud, through a farcaster, and she guides the ship to Fallingwater and then to Taliesin West. In The Rise of Endymion she teaches on Old Earth, and Raul later travels there to meet her.
