Background
Frank often speaks straight to the camera, breaking the fourth wall to share his plans with the audience. He is based on Francis Urquhart from the British novel and serial.
After Spacey was fired, Frank was written out: in the final season he is found dead.
The Underwoods' townhouse was filmed in two places: its exterior in Baltimore, and its large townhouse rooms inside the industrial warehouse in Joppa, Maryland, where most of the show's interior scenes were shot.
