Cauldrons are the underground dungeons of the Horizon games. For Horizon Forbidden West the developers gave them more varied designs to upset the player's expectations and tied some to larger set pieces. In the sequel's story Aloy, Varl and Beta trap the rogue subsystem HEPHAESTUS in an inactive Cauldron before the Zeniths attack them.
