The 2017 NBA Finals was the championship series of the 2016–17 NBA season. The Golden State Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers four games to one for their second title in three years and fifth overall. Kevin Durant was unanimously voted Finals MVP, averaging 35.2 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. The series began on June 1 and ended on June 12.

The Warriors entered the Finals undefeated with a 12–0 record in the first three rounds, while the Cavaliers entered with a 12–1 record. This was the first time in NBA history that the same two teams played in three consecutive Finals. The Warriors won the first three games, giving them a 15–0 record, the most consecutive postseason wins in NBA history. They lost Game 4 but bounced back in Game 5, finishing the postseason 16–1, the best winning percentage in NBA playoff history.
