The Golden State Warriors, originally the Philadelphia Warriors, were founded in 1946. They relocated to San Francisco in 1962, becoming the San Francisco Warriors, and changed to their current name in 1971. The team has won seven championships: 1946–47, 1955–56, 1974–75, 2014–15, 2016–17, 2017–18, and 2021–22.
