Lore & Background
The game is set in the then-future year of 2025 on Auroa, a fictional island chain in the Pacific Ocean owned by billionaire Jace Skell, founder of Skell Technology. The player takes on the role of Lieutenant Colonel Anthony 'Nomad' Perryman, a U.S. Special Operations Forces soldier sent to investigate disturbances involving Skell Technology. The main antagonist is former Ghost Lieutenant Colonel Cole D. Walker, who leads a rogue group called the Wolves. The story involves a failed insertion called Operation Greenstone, after which Nomad must survive and regroup.
In Their Own Story
The rain-slicked streets of Tbilisi glistened under the glow of distant fires. Sergeant Mitchell crouched behind a rusted truck, his M4 carbine trained on the silhouette of a guard tower. 'Ghost Lead, this is Phantom. Enemy patrol, two clicks east. Moving to intercept.' The radio crackled with static as his squad advanced through the shadows. A single shot from a sniper broke the silence, and the guard crumpled without a sound. 'Contact front!' Mitchell yelled, unleashing a controlled burst of fire as the team pushed toward the objective. The mission was clear: secure the bridge, hold it for reinforcements, and stop the Russian coup from spreading. Every step was a gamble, every corner a potential ambush—and every Ghost knew that one mistake meant a body bag, not a respawn.
Reader's Guide
Breakpoint is a tactical shooter set in an open world named Auroa, played from a third-person perspective with optional first-person aiming. Players can choose from four character classes (e.g., Panther, oriented towards stealth) and switch between them in-game. The game emphasizes survival: players must manage fatigue, injuries, rations, and gear level. It features a regenerative health system, bivouac shelters for healing and customization, and cooperative play with up to three others. A constant internet connection is required. The game includes an Exploration mode without objective markers, and a competitive multiplayer mode was released at launch.
