Lore & Background

The game is set in an open world environment called Auroa, a fictional island chain in the Pacific Ocean. The player takes on the role of Lieutenant Colonel Anthony 'Nomad' Perryman, a U.S. Special Operation Forces service member sent to the island to investigate a series of disturbances involving Skell Technology, a military contractor based on Auroa. The main antagonist is former Ghost Lieutenant Colonel Cole D. Walker, who has gone rogue after leaving the army.

Breakpoint is a tactical shooter set in an open world, played from a third-person perspective with an optional first-person view for aiming. Players can traverse the world using air, land, and sea vehicles. The game features four character classes at launch, with additional classes added post-launch. Players gather intelligence, use various weapons and gear (e.g., blowtorches, sulfur gas grenades, EMP grenades), and can play cooperatively with up to three others or in single-player. A constant internet connection is required. The game includes a competitive multiplayer mode and raids.
