Abyssal Energy

Abyssal Energy is a mysterious and corrupting force associated with the Abyss and the Abyss Order, though its exact nature and properties remain largely undefined in canon. It is not known to twist standard elements into dark variants, nor is there a confirmed method for resisting it, such as divine light or willpower. Its visual signature has not been canonically described as a 'violet and black corruption mist.'

Did You Know?

The Traveler's sibling joined the Abyss Order to oppose the Heavenly Principles, placing them in conflict with the Traveler.
Many characters, including Paimon, Venti, and Zhongli, refer to the Traveler by their chosen name (Aether or Lumine) in dialogue, and the sibling is also called by name by others in canon.
Shun Horie, Aether's Japanese voice actor, approached the character from a perspective of weakness to make him feel more human and realistic.
Aether and Lumine have identical attack speeds and animations in Genshin Impact gameplay; there is no canonical difference between them.
In the animated short 'The Road Not Taken', the final scene features a narrator asking if the Traveler would betray themselves for their sibling.
