Career

Paradis were discovered by DJ Tim Sweeney after sending demos to the Beats in Space radio show. Sweeney signed them for the first release of his newly established label Beats in Space. The duo have contributed mixes for fashion label Etudes Studio and for White Light Mixes. In 2012 they created the soundtrack for Sacha Barbin's short film Mes Amours Décomposé(e)s. That same year, they collaborated with APC on a T-shirt featuring a small bird print used as their brand mark, with blue accents. In June 2014, ahead of their debut album, they released the single "Garde Le Pour Toi" via Universal label Riviera/Barclay, a track merging French pop and soft house with French vocals. A second single, "Sur Une Chanson En Français," followed in November. The EP Couleurs Primaires, containing three original songs each tied to a primary color, was released on January 19, 2015. The EP incorporates pop, techno, and house elements, with the duo noting difficulty in categorizing their music and emphasizing expression and accidental sounds. Two remix tracks by Tim Goldsworthy and Superpitcher complement the EP. The EP's tracks formed the basis of the first three tracks of their studio album, originally scheduled for April 2016 but delayed to September 2016.

Discography

Paradis have released several 12-inch records. In 2012 they remixed Jacques Renault's "Back To You," which gained traction in the house scene. They also remixed tracks by Agoria and Cale Parks. In 2015 they remixed a song by Christine and the Queens titled "Christine." The duo covered Alain Chamfort's "Rendez Vous Au Paradis" for a tribute compilation of his songs released on January 22, 2016.
