Facts from the source article.

In Fourth Wing

To survive sparring, Violet learns her opponents' names ahead of time and poisons them. When she stands up for a small golden dragon that Jack Barlowe wants to kill, Jack and his friends attack her, and the black dragon Tairn rescues her; she bonds with him and with the golden dragon, Andarna. She later shows the lightning signet, and after the War Games trip to Athebyne she fights the venin beside gryphon fliers and is badly injured.

In Iron Flame

In her second year Violet learns that her brother Brennan is alive and leading a secret rebellion. She researches the First Six, who created Navarre's wards, is tortured by the vice commandant Burton Varrish, and later helps restore Basgiath's wardstone during the venin siege.

In Onyx Storm

Violet searches for a cure for Xaden Riorson, who has become venin, and for the seventh breed of dragons, travelling to Deverelli and other islands. Andarna breaks her bond with Violet to leave with the irids. At the end Violet finds a marriage certificate showing she has married Xaden, which makes her Duchess of Tyrrendor.

Family

Her father, Asher Sorrengail, was a curator of the Scribe Quadrant and a central figure in her life; he died of a heart attack soon after her brother Brennan was believed killed. Her mother, General Lilith Sorrengail, commands Basgiath War College, and her older sister Mira, a graduate of the college, opposes their mother's decision to send Violet into the Riders Quadrant. In Onyx Storm Violet recovers her father's research, which leads her to the merchant Narelle Anselm in the isle kingdom of Deverelli, who holds more of his books.
