Fairytale - Alexander Rybak

Alexander Rybak's 2009 winner for Norway.

"Fairytale" is a song written, composed and recorded by Alexander Rybak, which won the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow for Norway. It was the first single from his debut album Fairytales, released on 29 May 2009. Rybak has confirmed that it is about an ex-girlfriend, and he said its inspiration came from the hulder, a creature of Scandinavian folklore who lures young men and may curse them. A Russian version is called "Skazka".
