The Dire
One of the two sides of every Dota 2 match, with a dark, gloomy look.
The Dire is one of the two factions in Dota 2, opposite the Radiant. Its side of the game map, the top-right half, has a dark and gloomy theme, while the Radiant holds the bright bottom-left half. Each team of five defends its own base on its side of the map.
Background
Dota 2 introduced the Radiant and the Dire to replace the Sentinel and the Scourge, the two sides of the original Defense of the Ancients mod. The fan wiki lists heroes associated with the Dire, such as Doom, Lifestealer, Lycan, Magnus and Undying.
