Lakeland
The Tigers' spring-training home since 1934.
Lakeland, Florida, has been the Detroit Tigers' spring-training base since the club arrived there in 1934, an arrival credited with helping the city's revival. The Tigers train at Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium, an 8,500-seat park north of downtown that opened in 1966 and was last renovated in 2017, and their "Tiger Town" complex sits on the site of a former airport. The stadium is also home to the club's Class A affiliate, the Lakeland Flying Tigers; its record crowd of 10,307 saw a Tigers–Red Sox spring game on March 15, 2011.
