The Blast's popularity was boosted by aggressive promotion from radio partner WFBR (1300 AM), with play-by-play announcers Art Sinclair and Charley Eckman. WFBR broadcast nearly all matches until the team switched to WCBM in later seasons. Television coverage was provided by WMAR, WJZ-TV, Home Team Sports, and WBFF. Mike Zolotorow served as equipment manager for 20 years. In the 1983–84 playoffs, Baltimore defeated the New York Arrows 3–1 in the quarterfinals, swept the Cleveland Force 3–0 in the semifinals, and beat the St. Louis Steamers 4–1 in the championship series.
