It does not manage repairs—those are handled by the player's equipment terminal—nor does it process salvage data to unlock new weaponry or armor modifications; those upgrades are accessed via the Equipment Terminal using credits and resources. The terminal next to the Barkeep is the Jukebox, not an upgrade terminal. Progress tracking is done through the Mission Terminal and assignment board, not the Barkeep. Its programming includes complex morale subroutines designed to recognize miner achievements and provide appropriate encouragement or humor based on unlocked milestones rather than individual class performance. While seemingly stationary, the Barkeep represents the social heart of the Space Rig, connecting miners to each other and to a well-earned drink.
