The Dallas Cowboys have won five Super Bowls: Super Bowl VI, XII, XXVII, XXVIII and XXX. The franchise has made it to the Super Bowl eight times, and its fifth championship, in Super Bowl XXX, tied the San Francisco 49ers for the most by any NFC team.

Background
In Super Bowl VI, behind an MVP performance from Roger Staubach and a then Super Bowl record 252 yards rushing, the Cowboys crushed the Miami Dolphins 24–3. In Super Bowl XII in New Orleans they defeated the Denver Broncos 27–10, with defensive linemen Randy White and Harvey Martin named co-Super Bowl MVPs.
Under Jimmy Johnson, Dallas defeated the Buffalo Bills 52–17 in Super Bowl XXVII, forcing a record nine turnovers, and beat the Bills again 30–13 in Super Bowl XXVIII, becoming the first team to win a Super Bowl after starting 0–2. Under Barry Switzer, the Cowboys defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 27–17 at Sun Devil Stadium in Super Bowl XXX.
