Oviraptorosauria is a group of feathered, bipedal maniraptoran dinosaurs from the Cretaceous Period of Asia and North America. They are notable for their short, beaked, parrot-like skulls, with or without bony crests, and range in size from turkey-sized Caudipteryx to the 8-meter-long, 1.4-ton Gigantoraptor. The group is close to the ancestry of birds, and some researchers have proposed they may represent primitive flightless birds.

Oviraptorosaurs have shortened rostrums, massive beaklike mandibles, and long parietal bones. Most were medium-sized, rarely exceeding 2 meters, except Gigantoraptor. Primitive members had teeth in the premaxillae, with Incisivosaurus having enlarged bucktoothed incisors; advanced members were toothless. Their skulls and vertebrae show extensive pneumatization in advanced forms. The arms were about half the length of the legs, and the tail was short with about 24 vertebrae.
