Lore & Background
The game follows Conker, a greedy, hard-drinking red squirrel who must return home to his girlfriend, Berri, after an evening of heavily drinking at the local pub. The game is set in the Fairy Panther King's Kingdom. The plot involves Conker getting lost after a night of binge drinking, and the Panther King ordering his servant Professor Von Kriplespac to capture a red squirrel to use as a table leg. Conker becomes sidetracked by cash rewards, leading to encounters including a giant opera-singing pile of feces called The Great Mighty Poo, the Weasel Mafia, and a war between grey squirrels and the Tediz. Berri is shot and dies, the Panther King is killed by a creature named Heinrich, and Conker defeats Heinrich after expelling Kriplespac and the corpses into space.
In Their Own Story
Conker, having been dragged through a series of increasingly absurd and violent adventures, finally reaches the heart of the castle. The air is thick with methane and the echoes of a booming, theatrical aria that shakes the very stones. He traverses a gauntlet of plungers that slam down like guillotines, spinning blades that carve through the filth, and pools of sludge that slow his every step, all while the Great Mighty Poo taunts him from his throne with operatic insults. In the final chamber, Conker faces the Poo in a musical duel, using a giant toilet plunger to fling the boss's own projectiles—globules of singing, animated waste—back at him until the foul monarch is flushed down his own throne with a satisfying roar, leaving Conker to claim the crown—and a bitter, empty victory that tastes like ash and regret.
Reader's Guide
The game is a platform game with later sections featuring shooter elements. The player controls Conker through three-dimensional levels. An overworld allows transition between levels, many blocked until Conker earns cash. Gameplay involves completing linear challenges for cash rewards. Conker can run, jump, smack enemies with a frying pan, swim underwater, climb, and push objects. Health is regained by eating 'anti-gravity' chocolate. Context-sensitive pads grant temporary abilities. The game includes a multiplayer mode with up to four players in seven game types: Beach, Raptor, Heist, War, Tank, Race, and Deathmatch.
