Lore & Background
The game follows Conker, a greedy, hard-drinking red squirrel who must return home to his girlfriend, Berri, after an evening of heavily drinking at the local pub. The setting is the Fairy Panther King's Kingdom. The plot involves Conker getting lost, pursuing cash rewards, and ultimately confronting the Panther King and his servant Professor Von Kriplespac.
In Their Own Story
The pub was quiet except for the low hum of the fridge and the creak of a barstool. Conker sat on the counter, tail flicking, watching the rain streak the window. A fly buzzed past his ear. He didn't reach for a swatter. He didn't need one. He simply waited until the fly drifted close, then—snap—his paw closed around a half-empty bottle of stout and he hurled it in a lazy arc. The bottle shattered against the far wall in a spray of amber. The fly, startled, spiraled away. Conker grinned, licked a drop of beer from his lip, and hopped down. "That's the trick," he muttered to no one. "You don't need a weapon. You just need a nudge and a bit of aim."
Reader's Guide
Most of the game requires the player to complete a linear sequence of challenges that involve jumping over obstacles, solving puzzles, and fighting enemies. The player controls Conker through three-dimensional levels, using abilities such as running, jumping, smacking enemies with a frying pan, swimming underwater, climbing, and pushing objects. Context-sensitive pads grant temporary abilities like turning into an anvil or using a shotgun. A multiplayer mode with up to four players in seven game types is included.
