Lore & Background

WildTurtle used to play Defense of the Ancients, but transitioned to League of Legends to play with his friends. He returned to the game at the end of 9th grade after a one-year hiatus. During Season 1 of League of Legends (2010–2011), WildTurtle played for Forty Bus Gaming and Kill Steal Gaming. He played for Monomaniac eSports prior to IPL Season 4. In 2012, he was a substitute for Team Legion at the IPL Face Off: San Francisco Showdown and played against Team WE. Later, he played for Counter Logic Gaming Black at the MLG Summer Championship, replacing Austin 'LiNk' Shin as their mid-laner. On October 20, Orbit Gaming announced they were replacing their ADC Nientohsoh with WildTurtle. The team left the organization on November 1, renamed to Reddit Nation, and attended the Lone Star Clash 2 event. After the tournament, Quantic Gaming acquired the team. On December 4, Quantic Gaming disbanded, and the team was released on December 12, renamed to NomNom. They finished in the top three at the Season 3 North American MLG Online Qualifiers and secured a spot to the offline qualifier for the LCS. NomNom renamed to Cloud9 on January 8, 2013. They did not pass the offline qualifier for the LCS. In March 2013, WildTurtle became the starting ADC for Team SoloMid after Chaox was benched and removed. Cloud9 replaced WildTurtle with SnEaKyCaStRoO. WildTurtle later played for Immortals, FlyQuest, CLG, and Shopify Rebellion, with various results detailed in the source.

In Their Own Story

The arena lights had dimmed to that deep, electric blue that meant the series was on the line. Somewhere in the back row, a fan in a Cloud9 jersey was pressing both palms against his eyes, as if the screen in front of him might be a dream he could wake from. It was the late game. The enemy team had the dragon, the baron pit was unwarded, and the map was a minefield of vision control that said, very clearly, *we are not losing this.*

Then the minimap flickered. A green dot—WildTurtle's Master Yi—had been invisible for thirty seconds. Thirty seconds of nothing. And then, from the river brush on the far side of the map, a single flash. A spin. The first enemy carry dissolved. The second followed. The teamfight was over before the crowd's roar had finished rising, and the five Cloud9 players walked through the smoke and the sound and the absolute, ringing silence of the opposing team's comms going dark.

In the booth, the caster's voice cracked on the word "impossible." In the stands, a stranger grabbed a stranger's arm and shook it. And in the player seat, WildTurtle leaned back, cracked his neck, and said something to his mid that made the whole bench laugh. The jungle was quiet again. It always was, after he was done.

Reader's Guide

WildTurtle is a former Canadian professional League of Legends player who played ADC. He played for multiple LCS teams including Team SoloMid, Cloud9, CLG, Immortals, FlyQuest, and Shopify Rebellion. He participated in the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2020 World Championships. His career highlights include winning the NA LCS Spring Split with TSM in 2013, winning the NA LCS Summer Split with TSM in 2014, and winning IEM IX World Championship with TSM in 2015. He also helped Immortals finish first in the 2016 NA LCS Spring Split regular season with a 17–1 record. In 2020, he reached Worlds with FlyQuest, finishing third in Group D with a 3–3 record. He retired in early 2025.
