Results

The San Antonio Spurs claimed the most Midwest Division titles, with eleven. The Milwaukee Bucks and Utah Jazz each won six, though Milwaukee’s came in just ten seasons before leaving the division. The Minnesota Timberwolves were the 34th and final champion. Seven division winners matched or held the league’s best regular-season record. Five NBA champions came from the division: the Spurs and Houston Rockets each won two, and the Bucks won one; all except the 1994–95 Rockets were also division champions. In 1985–86, all six division teams made the playoffs, and in 2003–04, six of seven did. Every team in the division finished above .500 in its first and last seasons.
