Characters

Reese, the founder and leader of Mudpit, plays lead guitar. He was kicked out of his brother's band Tragic Ballerina, then entered the virtual world Muzika with his childhood friend Geneva to chase fame; in the game he goes by Dodge. Geneva, the band's drummer, is Reese's longtime friend and writes most of Mudpit's music. She joined Muzika to share her work with a global audience, and quit Tragic Ballerina out of loyalty to Reese.

There are hints she might have a small crush on Liam. In the game, she is known as G. Geneva's younger brother Mikey plays bass. He is skilled at video games and was already playing Muzika as a solo act before Reese and Geneva joined. He enters the game looking for fame and the chance to be a ladies' man.

In Muzika, he is called Booch. Liam is the band's lead singer and guitarist. A prodigy from a strict musical school background, he is socially awkward and bad at video games, but he is caring and supports his three friends. It is suggested he may have a crush on Geneva.

In Muzika, he goes by Lamb. Kyle, Reese's stepbrother, was the lead singer of Tragic Ballerina. He kicked Reese out after a failed crowd dive attempt. With Reese and Geneva gone, the remaining members rebranded as the Spoilers.

Reese and Kyle have a combative relationship, with Kyle often trying to prank or outdo his stepbrother. In Muzika, Kyle is known as Darkrider. Fitzy owns the Game & Grub, a Toronto restaurant and smoothie bar where Reese and Geneva first learn about Muzika. The place has game rooms for rent.

Fitzy was once in a 1990s boy band called Barry and the Boys, saved his earnings, and left music to open the restaurant. He often acts as a mentor to Mudpit and other bands playing Muzika there.
