Characters

Rita Claire Mike-Murphy, who also performs music as Riit, spends her summers living in her anaana's tent alongside her husky, Qimmiq. While her anaana is away on the land, Rita Claire stays inside the tent, where she plays games, sings songs, reads stories, and picks up new Inuktitut words. Qimmiq is a retired sled dog who can be a bit grumpy at times, but when he is in a good mood, he is both fun and helpful. He assists Rita Claire with counting, sorting, and learning new vocabulary.

Ukaliq is an energetic Arctic hare who enjoys playing and discovering the world around him, though he can be impatient and sometimes acts without thinking things through. He is always ready for an adventure around town or out on the land with his friend Kalla. Ukaliq and Kalla usually appear together in segments where they help a narrator list words that start with a particular Inuktitut sound. Ukaliq is voiced by Vinnie Karetak.

Kalla is a wise, calm little lemming who is patient and thoughtful, much like traditional Arctic hunters. He is a good friend to Ukaliq, teaching him traditional skills and reminding him to stay calm during their adventures. Like Ukaliq, Kalla appears in segments where he and his friend help a narrator list words beginning with specific Inuktitut sounds. Kalla is voiced by Anguti Johnston.

Uliaq is an animated character who loves animals and wants to share everything he knows about them with his friends. He hosts a segment called "Uliaq's Amazing Animals," where he talks about a particular Arctic animal and teaches viewers about it.

Nanuq is a large polar bear who understands what it means to be a good friend. He likes to stay active by playing hockey and often has to come up with creative ways to cheer up his little brother, Nuka. Nanuq and Nuka appear together in the segments "Nanuq and Nuka."

Nuka is a small polar bear who comes across as grumpy on the outside, but deep down he just wants to have fun with his friends. He is persistent and does not give up easily when he sets his mind to something. Nuka and his brother Nanuq are featured in the "Nanuq and Nuka" segments.
