Alpha Galates
Canadian progressive metal band active from 2001 to 2011.
Alpha Galates, originally named The Hollow, was a Canadian progressive metal band that formed in Medicine Hat, Alberta and later relocated to Toronto, Ontario. The group was founded in 2001 by Matthew von Wagner, his then-wife Karen Wagner, Adam Taylor, and Todd Lefever. After several lineup changes and a name change, the band signed with EMI Music Canada in December 2006 and released the album A Stimulus for Reason in February 2008. The album was produced by Wagner and mixed by Joe Barresi, and appeared in both a digipak and a deluxe metal tin edition. The band toured Canada and Europe, including appearances at Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in Germany, Nova Rock in Austria, and Edgefest in Toronto. Alpha Galates disbanded in 2011.
