Summary

The precinct undergoes major changes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the George Floyd protests. Rosa leaves the police force to become a private investigator after losing faith in the system. Holt struggles with his relationship with Kevin, while Hitchcock retires and stays in touch with Scully via FaceTime. Jake and Amy navigate their first year as parents while managing their work lives. Amy plans a reform program that draws opposition from NYPD Union President Frank O'Sullivan. Jake is suspended for five months after a wrongful arrest. Holt reconciles with Kevin and they renew their vows. The squad stops O'Sullivan from sabotaging the reform proposal, leading to its citywide implementation and Holt and Amy being appointed deputy commissioner and chief of the program. Jake quits to be a full-time father, Terry becomes the new captain, and the group continues their Halloween Heists.
