Summary
After his undercover mafia assignment wraps up, Jake is back at the Nine-Nine. He has a tough time moving past his feelings for Amy, so he dates defense lawyer Sophia Perez instead. That relationship falls apart because their jobs put them on opposite sides. Amy, meanwhile, dumps Teddy because he is just too boring.
Charles and Gina try to keep their fling a secret, but Jake and Amy catch them, forcing them to come clean. After they break up, they accidentally set up Charles’ dad with Gina’s mom. They try to stop the romance but eventually give in when the parents get married. Rosa starts dating Holt’s nephew, Marcus.
Holt gets into a clever rivalry with his old colleague, Deputy Commissioner Madeline Wuntch. She tricks him into taking a big budget to fight a new drug called Giggle Pig, but Rosa leads a task force that, with help from Jake and the Pontiac Bandit, shuts it down. Later, they solve a major robbery with Wuntch’s help, only for her to reveal she set it up so Holt would be promoted to head the NYPD Public Affairs Division. That forces him to leave the Nine-Nine. While working an undercover job, Amy and Jake share a kiss, and a real relationship begins.
