Sunshyne
Brief 2007 rebranding of the 411.
Sunshyne was a short-lived name used by the English girl group the 411 after they reformed in 2007. The group adopted the name after Suzie Furlonger left, and two new members joined. History
In 2002, Tanya Bryson and Tisha Martin recorded backing vocals for Lemar on his cover of "Let's Stay Together". A woman from Sony Music heard them and said they sounded good together, suggesting interest if there were more members. Carolyn Owlett grew up on the same street as Bryson, and Suzie Furlonger completed the line-up after meeting them at the Notting Hill Carnival. The group auditioned for Sony and received a one-single record deal. The name "The 411" came from the US information line and from Mary J. Blige's first album. Their first single "On My Knees" reached the top 5 in the UK and top 30 in Australia, leading to an album deal. The second single "Dumb" reached number 3 in the UK. These singles appeared on the album Between the Sheets, which included songs by Diane Warren, Redeye and the group themselves. The album was certified Silver on 10 December 2004.
