Cast

Poppy Lee Friar plays Eve, the main character, a gynoid who has just woken up. Her face is modeled after Helen, the twin sister of her creator Mary Douglas, who died and looked that way in the 1970s. In public, Eve pretends to be Will’s cousin from America. She has poor social skills and often does not realize the risks she faces, but her adopted family teaches her to act human and choose her own path. Oliver Woollford is Will Clarke, the teenage son of Dr. Clarke who woke Eve up. He grows very close to her and wants to keep her safe, even if it means putting himself in danger, but his stubbornness often leads to arguments with his family and friends. Eubha Akilade is Lily Watson, a brilliant and awkward teenage hacker who is Will’s best friend. She becomes close to Eve too, and though she sometimes feels jealous, she is curious about and protective of the clueless gynoid. Elijah Ayité plays Abe Watson, Lily’s younger brother who likes to take things and calls Eve “Robo Girl.” He often annoys Will and Lily and does not care much about right and wrong, but he truly cares for Eve and has his own sense of right. Ben Cartwright appears as Dr. Nick Clarke. Rhona Croker is Dr. Katherine Calvin, the main villain of the first season. She is a very smart but arrogant and driven scientist who runs Calimov Systems and looks down on Nick and his family. Jane Asher plays Mary Douglas, the series’ main antagonist and a transhumanist who created Eve. Mary thinks humans only cause death and destruction, so she wants to replace them with artificial intelligence that will shape the universe’s future. Other cast members include Shonagh Price as Maddy Watson, Richie Campbell as Viv Watson, Jenny Bede as Rebecca Clarke, Ellie Grainger as KT, Alex Sawyer as Michael Hoffman, Michael Wildman as Lord Hoffman, Peter Collins as Mr Gwenlan, Rory Barraclough as Chris, Paksie Vernon as Laurie, Chris Hegarty as Cain, and Billy Ashworth as Zac and Adam.
