Synopsis
Captain Mack operates from Sky Rocket Control with his monkey engineer Samson, monitoring Sunshine City's residents. The naughty characters include Marty Meddler, Tracy Trickster, and Grabby Crabby. Other inhabitants are Yolanda Yummy, Peter Patent, Fineas Fixit, Doctor Kwack, Daisy Digger, Wendy Whizz, Camilla Divine, Maximus Volume, and Rosie Raucous. Captain Mack departs saying, "Shucks, I have to go. My monkey needs me. Another mission awaits!" He uses "Sky Rockets to the rescue!" during trouble and "Never fear, Mack is here!" on other occasions.
Development
Development began in August 2004 as a stop-motion animated co-production between Kickback Productions and Canadian studio Cuppa Coffee Animation, planned as twenty-six 11-minute episodes for a Fall 2005-Early-2006 delivery. In May 2006, CITV commissioned the series, now set for Fall 2007 with fifty-two episodes. The series was reworked as a live-action/CGI production, and Kickback Productions merged with Fire Mountain Productions to form Fireback Entertainment by January 2008. Granada International secured worldwide distribution rights except in the UK in late-February 2008.
