Premise and format
The series follows Timmy and his friends as they learn to share, make friends, and accept their mistakes, supervised by teachers Harriet the Heron and Osbourne the Owl. Aimed at pre-school-aged children, episodes are ten minutes long and feature minimal dialogue, similar to Shaun the Sheep and Wallace & Gromit. Shaun, Bitzer, and the Farmer do not appear. During development, the series was called Timmy. CBeebies acquired UK-broadcast rights in October 2007. In 2018, Aardman collaborated with the British Council to create Learning Time with Timmy for English language learning. In October 2019, Aardman announced a new version of the existing 78 episodes titled It's Timmy Time, featuring narration by pre-school children and running five minutes each.
