The Fiddley Foodle Bird is a British children's animated musical television series that aired on BBC One in 1992. The thirteen-episode serial was narrated by Bruce Forsyth and written by Jonathan Hodge. It was produced by H.A.P.P.Y. Animation and Fiddley Foodle Bird Productions in association with HIT Entertainment, and eventually broadcast in over 30 countries.

Plot

The central character is a bird whose full name is the Fiddley Foodle Bim Bam Boodle Oo Diddley-Doodle Oodle Bird, voiced by Dennis Waterman. The bird began as a picture in a book discovered by a boy named Algernon. Cilla Black guest-starred as the President of the Potty Explorer's Club.

Merchandise

The complete series was released on VHS in 2001, and a separate Pocket Money Video release contained the first eight episodes. A soundtrack on CD and cassette, released by EMI Music Publishing in 1992, included Bruce Forsyth's introduction, an extended version of the main title theme, and all songs from the thirteen episodes.
