Background

Leonel and Marco Salamanca share a deep bond defined by their mission to kill Heisenberg. Before entering the United States, the brothers make a pilgrimage to a Mexican shrine to Santa Muerte. There, they make an offering and leave behind a drawing of Heisenberg, signaling their intent to the spiritual realm before beginning their hunt. Their journey into the US is fraught with immediate violence; hidden in the back of a truck crossing from Mexico, they are discovered by another migrant who realizes their affiliation with the Juarez cartel. In response, Leonel and Marco kill their fellow passengers and the driver of the truck. They then destroy the vehicle by blowing it up, clearing the path for their entry into Albuquerque to find the man responsible for their family's grievances.
