Brazil won its first World Cup in 1958, defeating Sweden 5–2 in the final. They won their second title in 1962 in Chile, with Garrincha as the star player after Pelé was injured. In 1970, Brazil won its third World Cup in Mexico, fielding what is often considered the best football squad ever, led by Pelé, Carlos Alberto Torres, Jairzinho, Tostão, Gérson, and Rivellino.
