Bluey and Bingo's mum, the calm centre of the family's games.
She is depicted as level-headed but sometimes joins in the chaos of her daughters' games.[1] Melanie Zanetti provides the voice for Chilli.[2]
Making and release
The show's creator, Joe Brumm, lives in Brisbane, and the series makes obvious references to that city.[3] The producers refused requests to replace the Australian accents for overseas markets.[3] Executive producer Daley Pearson said the decision not to dub to UK or US accents was discussed.[3] Ludo Studio co-founder Charlie Aspinwall stated that parents could easily relate to the Bluey characters.[3]
The show's creators initially found it hard to explain, calling it "just a show about family and games"; Bluey had a deal with the BBC, and Ludo Studio was looking for an international partner.[3]

An ABC News article from April 2019 reports that Bluey had been downloaded more than 23 million times, the highest figure ever for an ABC TV show.[3] The same article notes that children liked "the way they speak, and how animated it is"[3]
