True Cross Academy

A prestigious cram school secretly training the next generation of Exorcists under the True Cross Order.

True Cross Academy operates as the Japanese branch of the True Cross Order, an international organization dedicated to protecting Assiah from Gehenna. While it presents itself publicly as a prestigious exorcist cram school, its core mission is to train students to become Exorcists capable of destroying demons that act in damaging manners within the human world. The institution serves as the primary setting for Rin Okumura's journey after he enrolls following the death of his guardian, Father Shiro Fujimoto. Under the unexpected tutelage of his twin brother Yukio Okumura, who is already a veteran Exorcist and teacher there, Rin begins his path to defeating Satan. The academy bridges the gap between the material world where humans live and the hidden war against the demon realm.

Lore & Background

The world consists of two dimensions attached as a mirror: Assiah, the material world of humans, and Gehenna, ruled by Satan. Any demon can pass into Assiah through possession, though they usually remain unnoticed to those without prior contact. In response, Exorcists have existed for over two thousand years, operating in several branches globally under the clandestine command of the Vatican. True Cross Academy functions as the Japanese branch of this order, training individuals like Rin Okumura who must master blue flames and demon-slaying weapons such as Kurikara to survive.
