Retirement of Zhora Salome
A dancer who ran from death only to find it waiting in the rain.
The retirement of Zhora Salome is the chase in Blade Runner that ends with Rick Deckard shooting the replicant Zhora. A Nexus-6 trained for an off-world murder squad, she has taken a job as an exotic dancer at Taffey Lewis's Snake Pit Bar, where she performs with an artificial snake.
Lore & Background
Deckard reaches her through Leon: a photograph from Leon's hotel room and a scale found there, identified as a synthetic snake scale, lead him to the club. When he tracks her down she soon realizes that he is dangerous and attacks him, and he escapes being choked with his own tie only because other people walk in.
Reader's Guide
Zhora runs out into a busy street. Deckard chases her through the crowd and shoots her in the back. Leon, who has seen her die, attacks Deckard moments later and is shot by Rachael with Deckard's gun. Zhora was activated on June 12, 2016, which makes her three years and five months old when she dies.
