Pris Stratton is a Nexus-6 replicant, one of the four surviving members of a renegade group of six replicants who escaped from an off-world colony and returned to Earth. She is the girlfriend of Roy Batty and was played by Daryl Hannah. She is an acrobatic and violent replicant who ambushes blade runner Rick Deckard.

Lore & Background

At an A physical level she shows superhuman endurance and an affinity for gymnastics. As Nexus-6 models, she and the others have a four-year lifespan.

Reader's Guide

Pris Stratton embodies the terrifying duality of the Nexus-6 'pleasure model': capable of childlike wonder and sudden, brutal lethality. As Roy Batty's inseparable companion, her narrative arc is inextricably bound to their collective desperation to extend a four-year lifespan by confronting Dr. Eldon Tyrell. She is the one who wins the trust of J.F. Sebastian, who takes her in because he thinks she is homeless. She dies in Sebastian's apartment in the Bradbury Building: disguised as one of his toys, she ambushes Deckard with her gymnastic skills, and he kills her as she rushes him again, shortly before Roy returns.

Character Origins and Design

Pris Stratton is introduced as one of the four surviving Nexus-6 replicants from a renegade group that fled off-world colonies, alongside Roy Batty, Leon, and Zhora. Created by the Tyrell Corporation, these advanced androids were designed with superior strength and agility but possessed a limited lifespan to prevent them from developing independent emotional control. Pris is a "basic pleasure model"; in the film she is acrobatic and violent, and Daryl Hannah performed some of her own gymnastic stunts. Having escaped to Earth with the others, she becomes a target for retirement by the special police operatives known as blade runners.

The Hunt and Final Confrontation

Pris's narrative arc culminates in a tense sequence within the apartment of J.F. Sebastian, a genetic designer who provides shelter to the fugitive replicants. After being tracked down by Rick Deckard, she engages in a brutal close-quarters battle that showcases her terrifying physical capabilities. She attacks Deckard with her gymnastic skills. The confrontation ends swiftly when Deckard manages to overpower and kill her before the arrival of Roy Batty. Her death occurs in the shadow of Sebastian's apartment complex, marking the elimination of one of the four primary threats Deckard was ordered to neutralize.

Role within the Replicant Hierarchy

Within the small group of fugitive Nexus-6s, Pris occupies a unique position defined by her relationship with Roy Batty. While Batty leads the fugitives, Pris is his girlfriend and the one who gains Sebastian's trust.
