Doctor Aloysius Animo is a recurring villain of the Ben 10 franchise, first met in the original series when Ben confronts him in Washington, D.C. He is a mad scientist who experiments on animals, often creating mutated or hybrid creatures, and he appears in every incarnation of the series.

Lore & Background
In the original series Animo is a promising veterinary scientist whose career ended when he was found performing twisted genetic experiments on animals. His Transmodulator can mutate living animals and even bring dead ones back, and he makes himself a personal nemesis of Ben, hoping to defeat him and rule the world. In Alien Force he rules the Null Void as a tyrant, with the Null Guardians under his command and its inhabitants enslaved. In Omniverse he escapes a Plumber prison and tries to turn the world into a mutant ant farm.
Reader's Guide
Animo's threat comes from his mutated animals. In the film Ben 10: Secret of the Omnitrix a fight with him accidentally sets the Omnitrix to self-destruct, and Ben has to find its creator to shut it down. In Ultimate Alien he is paroled and starts a company selling eggs that hold mutant dinosaurs. Dwight Schultz voices him throughout the franchise.
