Szedeák began in the Hungarian second tier NB I/B in 2002, but after that season the men's team was forced to withdraw, leaving only youth teams. In 2006, Péter Kardos took over management and returned the club to the second division. The team earned promotion to the top-tier NB I/A in 2010.

In 2014, Szedeák reached the national championship playoffs for the first time, losing 0–3 to Szolnoki Olaj. The 2020–21 season marked the club's best performance, finishing third in the NB I/A under head coach Srećko Sekulović. The following season, Szedeák entered the qualifying rounds of the FIBA Europe Cup, its debut in European competition.
