Marième Badiane (born 24 November 1994) is a French professional basketball player who currently plays for Beretta Famila Schio in Italy's Serie A1 and the EuroLeague Women, and also represents the French national team. The daughter of former basketball players Abdoulaye Badiane and Cathy Silinski, she grew up around the game and began her own career at Centre fédéral. After choosing a Ligue 2 path to balance playing time with her biology studies, she worked her way up to the top French league and eventually to European powerhouse Fenerbahçe, where she won the 2023–24 EuroLeague Women title. She also made a brief WNBA appearance with the Minnesota Lynx in 2025.

Career

Badiane started her professional journey at Centre fédéral, spending three years there before signing her first pro contract with Roche Vendée of Ligue 2. She turned down offers from Aix and Mondeville, saying, 'I chose the Ligue 2 option with Roche Vendée, to have more playing time and gain experience. I really like the sports project, and I can continue my studies in biology easily.' After one season, she moved to another Ligue 2 team, Champagne Basket Reims, and despite interest from Belgian and LFB clubs, she stayed another year to finish her biology degree before focusing fully on basketball.

Following a strong season averaging 12.1 points and 8.1 rebounds, she signed with Mondeville of the LFB in April 2015. At the end of the 2016–2017 season, she signed a three-year deal with ASVEL, a club recently taken over by Tony Parker, and renewed her commitment in November 2019 for 2020–2023. She missed the 2020–2021 LFB season due to maternity leave. She returned to competition in 2022–2023 with BLMA, averaging 11.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in nine matches and 14.8 points and 5.2 rebounds in the EuroCup Women.

In February 2024, she joined Turkish club Fenerbahçe, managed by Valérie Garnier, and won the 2023–24 EuroLeague Women with the team. On 1 February 2025, she signed with the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA, but was waived on 4 June after appearing in three of the Lynx's first eight games.

International

Badiane is part of the French national team. She won a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics, a silver at EuroBasket 2019, and a bronze at EuroBasket 2023. She also won gold at the 2017 Francophone Games.
