Rebecca Kate Allen (born 6 November 1992) is an Australian professional basketball player who has competed for the New York Liberty, Fenerbahçe, and the Lunar Owls.
Career
Allen began her domestic career in the Women's National Basketball League with the Dandenong Rangers, then moved to the Australian Institute of Sport, followed by the Melbourne Boomers and the South East Queensland Stars. In 2014 she received the WNBL Robyn Maher Defensive Player of the Year award. After winning a bronze medal at the World Championship, Allen signed as a free agent with the New York Liberty for the 2015 WNBA season. She made her debut in the Liberty's season opener against Atlanta, scoring six points, but soon suffered a season-ending right knee cartilage injury and returned to Australia for surgery.
In January 2023 she was traded to the Connecticut Sun as part of a three-team deal. On 3 February 2024, the Sun traded her to the Phoenix Mercury in a sign-and-trade for Moriah Jefferson; she played only 18 games that season due to injuries, including a hamstring injury in July that sidelined her for the rest of the regular season, and she underwent surgery for back issues. On 2 February 2025, Allen was traded back to the Connecticut Sun in a deal that was originally reported as involving Natasha Cloud and the 12th pick in the 2025 WNBA draft for Alyssa Thomas and Tyasha Harris, but was officially part of a larger four-team trade.
Two days later, she was traded to the Chicago Sky for Lindsay Allen and the rights to Nikolina Milić. In 2020, after the pandemic, she signed with Spanish club Valencia Basket. In September 2025, she signed a short-term contract with Fenerbahçe of the Turkish Super League. On 5 November 2025, it was announced that she had been drafted by Lunar Owls BC for the 2026 Unrivaled season.
National team
Allen made her national team debut for the Gems at the 2011 FIBA Under-19 World Championship in Chile. She later debuted for the senior Opals at the 2014 World Championship in Turkey.
In 2019 she was named to the final roster for the FIBA Asia Cup and, after strong performances, was selected to the tournament All-Star Five. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the Opals lost their first two group matches against Belgium and China, then defeated Puerto Rico by 27 points to advance, but fell to the United States 79–55 in the quarterfinals. Allen was named to the squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics but was ruled out due to a hamstring injury sustained in the final warm-up game.
