Aaron Charles Rodgers is an American professional football quarterback currently playing for the New York Jets. Born on December 2, 1983, in Chico, California, he is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most talented quarterbacks of all time. After backing up Brett Favre for three years with the Green Bay Packers, he became their starter in 2008, leading them to a Super Bowl XLV victory where he earned MVP honors. His career includes four NFL MVP awards (2011, 2014, 2020, 2021) and a record-setting efficiency that places him among the all-time leaders in regular-season passer rating.

Rodgers' journey began at the University of California, Berkeley, after a standout season at Butte College. His father, Edward Wesley Rodgers, played offensive line at Chico State, but Aaron did not attend that school. At Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, he set records with 4,421 passing yards and a single-season total of 2,466 yards. Lightly recruited out of high school, he transferred to Butte College, where he threw 26 touchdowns in his freshman season, catching the eye of Cal coach Jeff Tedford. At the University of California, Rodgers set school records for lowest interception percentage (1.43% in 2003) and consecutive completions (26). His performance against USC in 2004, where he completed 85.3% of passes, helped lead Cal to a top-five ranking before he entered the 2005 NFL draft.
