Did You Know?

• In 2009, The Lifestyle Channel bought the rights to the show, commissioning Granada Australia to produce a version for the Australian market.
• The first season consists of 20 episodes.
• In July 2010, the show began broadcasting in the UK under the title Come Dine with Me Down Under.

Format

Each five-episode block follows five participants, with one hosting each episode. The four guests rate the dinner, and points are totalled after the block; the winner receives $2000. Every episode opens by introducing the host and the menu, with the narrator describing each course. As courses are described, new participants appear reading the menu, and a brief introduction is given for each.

The dinner party then begins, sometimes with introductory interactions or a host-provided activity. After guests start eating, the show alternates between the host cooking and the guests eating and talking. Following the entrees, guests tour the host's house, providing a comedic break as the narrator comments. The meal continues with activities, games, or drama.

Once the meal and activities finish, guests leave and are shown in a car, where they discuss the night and rate it out of ten. The episode ends with the narrator explaining the standings.

Celebrity Come Dine With Me Australia

A celebrity version first aired on 11 December 2012 on the Lifestyle Channel. The initial episode was a Christmas special released between the third and fourth seasons of the original show in December 2012. Another celebrity episode aired in December 2013 after the fourth season concluded. Four more celebrity episodes were broadcast in January 2014.
