Release and promotion

The first single, "Give Me a Sign", was released on August 30, 2022, in memory of Quando's close friend Lul Pab and Big Dump after a drive-by shooting. On October 4, 2022, Rolling Stone interviewed Quando about the mixtape's making.

The second single, "Cream Soda", featuring only Quando, arrived on October 26, 2022. The third single, "Keep Me Dry", was released on November 17, 2022, following the tracklist reveal on November 16. The fourth and final single, "It's On", came out on November 21, 2022, four days before the project.

Artwork

The artwork shows animated versions of Quando and YoungBoy with blue and green bandanas tied to a street sign referencing their gang affiliations. YoungBoy, on the left, has a "38" on the sign, referencing North 38th St in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he grew up, and a green flag for his 4KTrey gang. Quando, on the right, has a "60" on the sign, referencing the Rollin' 60s Neighborhood Crips, and a blue bandana associated with the Crips.

Controversy

On the mixtape's fifth cut, "Want Me Dead", Quando Rondo dissed Lil Durk, King Von, and their gang associations. He rapped about Von as his "favorite opp" and criticized Von's sister Kayla B for speaking about her brother's murder, referencing Lul Timm as the alleged murderer of King Von. The lyrics received mixed responses from fans, with some taunting Quando about his friend Lul Pab's death and others advocating the violent content. On the release day, Quando and YoungBoy faced mild backlash over a lack of promotion.

YoungBoy responded that he and Quando had mutually agreed not to release the project, but Atlantic Records released it behind their backs and uploaded it to YoungBoy's official YouTube channel. YoungBoy stated he had begged for the tape not to be released and that the label did not care about them. He subsequently deleted the mixtape from his YouTube channel, disapproving of the lyrics and stating he wants to "stop the violence."
