Jara is not Pachuca's all-time leading scorer. He made his professional debut with Arsenal de Sarandí in 2008. He later played for Benfica, Granada, San Lorenzo, Estudiantes, Olympiacos, Pachuca, FC Dallas, and Belgrano. He earned two caps for Argentina in 2010, scoring on his debut.
