Adani started his career in Serie B with Modena, making his first team debuts at age 18. He later played for Lazio, Brescia, Fiorentina, Inter Milan, Ascoli, and Empoli, among others. He won the Coppa Italia with Fiorentina in 2000–01. He earned five caps for Italy between 2000 and 2002. After retiring from professional football, he became a TV commentator and briefly worked as an assistant head coach at Vicenza.
