Player Manager

First game to blend management and on-field play.

In 1990, Player Manager hit the Amiga and Atari ST as the first football game to let you both manage a team and play as a single player. Its match engine came from Kick Off, created by Dino Dini and Anco Software, who also made this game. You take control of a third division side as player-manager, with the option to play as just yourself, the whole team, or skip playing matches entirely. Magazine reviews called it "a stroke of pure genius" (ST Action) and "the best football management game ever written" (Zzap!64), scoring 94% from Commodore User and 93% from both ST Format and Amiga Format.
