Individual player training is introduced in this version, allowing users to focus specific training routines on key players for a competitive edge in crucial matches; earlier installments only offered full-team routines. Matches are displayed in 2D and can be sped up or slowed down. This version permits real-time match viewing with the ability to change tactics or make substitutions at any time. Board members influence investment into the chosen club, and managers can set season targets that affect the level of board-provided funds. Full promotion and relegation means managers may be relegated out of their league into non-leagues, or sacked if the board decides. Press conferences hold players accountable for poor performance, and users may be asked to explain their managerial decisions.
