New features
Championship Manager 2 featured improved graphics with SVGA support and photorealistic background pictures. The most notable addition was an optional audio commentary engine on CD-ROM, voiced by British commentator Clive Tyldesley. The game expanded statistics and tactical options, made transfers and contract negotiations more realistic, and included the Bosman ruling in later updates. For the first time, playable Scottish leagues were available, but only in the PC version. Players could select from multiple leagues at the start, though only one could be run at a time.
Versions
Two later versions of Championship Manager 2 added European leagues: one included Spanish, Belgian, and Dutch leagues; the other contained French, German, and Italian leagues. Only one league could be run at a time, but this expansion signaled Sports Interactive's intent to broaden the series globally. The Amiga port, developed by Sterling Games, omitted several PC features such as the Scottish League, international management, and player histories. It also could not be installed to a hard drive.
