1977–78 Ligue 1 Title

AS Monaco won the 1977-78 French Division 1 title with 53 points. After more than a decade of mid-table finishes and spells in the second division, the club had brought back Lucien Leduc as coach; he won promotion to the first division at once and the championship the following season, in 1978. Leduc left again in 1979.
